Expérience fantastique: Je suis ravi d'avoir choisit Edu-inter comme école de français: Les deux semaines sont passé a toute vitesse! Notre prof de B2 était magnifique et j'ai fait la connaissance d'autres étudiants du monde entier, de différents âges, tous très sympa. C'était une expérience qui a dépassé mes expériences et je remercie vivement toute l'équippe d'Edu-inter ainsi que mes camerades de classe!!

Expérience fantastique: J’ai presque fini mon cours à Edu‑Inter et je voudrais remercier tous les employés et professeurs. Ce fut un vrai plaisir d’apprendre le français avec eux, et notamment avec ma professeure Gabrielle, pour avoir créé une atmosphère détendue, conviviale, motivante et propice aux études. Pendant la journée de cours, il y a différents exercices et activités pour pratiquer le français de manière complète et amusante : des exercices de grammaire, de vocabulaire, de conjugaison, des activités de compréhension orale et écrite, des jeux de rôle, des discussions en groupe et des présentations orales. Ma famille d’accueil a également rendu mon séjour très agréable. Elle m’a accueilli chaleureusement, m’a fait sentir comme chez moi et m’a encouragé à parler français tous les jours. J’ai beaucoup apprécié partager les repas et découvrir leur culture et leurs habitudes quotidiennes. Je recommande Edu‑Inter à tous ceux qui souhaitent apprendre le français dans un cadre convivial, efficace et enrichissant. Merci encore à toute l’équipe et à ma famille d’accueil pour cette expérience inoubliable !

Expérience fantastique: The best experience in my French learning journey! I met so many like minded people who were passionate about French. The staff at the school are super helpful and resourceful. Highly recommend for anyone who's looking for a 100% immersive experience in a beautiful city.

Expérience négative: Same as another review below, they are great sales people but the experience itself is so underwhelming. The teachers barely teach and will mostly leave you to work in groups or pairs to work on exercises together. The whole speaking exclusively in french thing is great if theres actually teaching going on. Another thing I hated was the fact that they spoke fast to lower levels instead of just speaking a bit slower so we could actually see how words are put together. I can not emphasise how much it felt like a time-waste and I eventually started self studying instead of wasting my time sitting in class with a bunch of worksheets using DeepL to do the work. Their student accomodations are somehow worse than the actual school. I stayed at Le Sonnet and moved out within a week. My roommates hated it as well and dealt with cockroaches and bugs and eventually also moved out.

Expérience positive: I was very excited to be be immersing myself in French to improve my skills with the language. Despite arriving on time, doing my homework, paying attention and sharing in others experiences, for some reason or another the prof decided to target me with negative interactions. I was not alone, and according to others in the class who have taken this course several times, this is a common practice in this class. By the end of the week it was very fatiguing and frankly depressing. It sucked any life out of my excitement to have an opportunity to be immersed in French . It felt like having to walk on eggshells all week, afraid to interact because one might get tromped on. It not only ruined my week, for which I spent a good deal of money to travel and attend this course, but it ruined what should have been a fun week. I am a mature adult and it felt like we were in grade school. It certainly has me reconsidering returning as this Prof is the main Prof for this course. It is sad really because this Prof was good at teaching the grammar but needs to work on student/prof relations.

Expérience fantastique: If you are looking for an immersive experience on your journey to mastering the French language, then look no further! During my three-week stay in Quebec City, I enjoyed classes all day long completely in French. The school took the time prior to my arrival to test my writing and speaking skills so that I was placed in appropriate classes for my level of French. In addition, they also gave me an excellent homestay accommodation as well. Monday through Friday, from the moment I woke up until the moment I went to sleep, I was surrounded with French. The classes were interesting with a variety of teachers from Quebec and France. My hosts never stopped talking to me in French and even took me sightseeing one of my weekends. I felt blessed to have the opportunity and found it quite reasonably priced. I think that you will really like your learning opportunity at Edu-Inter.

Expérience négative: Edu-Inter French School had everything it needed to be a successful school and to deliver what it promises. Unfortunately, the only thing it truly excels at is its sales department. Before you enroll, they are extremely attentive and responsive. Once you become a student, however, the experience changes completely. After the first-day tour, the on-site sales representative becomes a very different person—someone clearly uninterested in listening to complaints, let alone helping students receive what they paid for. I suppose that if the student is a teenager enrolled in their Summer Program, the focus on immersion through field trips and fun may work. However, as a language teacher myself, I was deeply disappointed to see how unprepared the teachers are to handle a multicultural group of adult learners. One of my roommates, from Bosnia, explicitly stated that she did not want to discuss war-related topics, yet the subject continued to come up in class. There is a complete lack of cultural sensitivity. Teachers fail to distinguish between purposeful classroom discussion and sharing their personal opinions, often spending a significant portion of the class talking while students sit quietly, confused, and struggling to follow along. When I raised these concerns, I was told this was simply part of “exposing students to the language” — LOL. As if listening to a teacher rant for over 40 minutes about how angry she was with the Canadian government for allegedly stealing billions from the motor vehicle department were an effective method of “listening with a purpose.” That is both disrespectful and laughable. The school invests heavily in marketing and promotions, yet not at all in equipment or teacher training. Lessons lack structure and progression. Teachers introduce delicate, politically sensitive topics, freely share personal opinions, and speak nonstop for entire class periods. There is no pedagogical plan whatsoever. In fact, one teacher even asked students to teach grammar to one another. Perhaps this mediocre curriculum works with young students who don’t know any better, but the school needs to seriously revamp its pedagogical planning and raise its standards if it wants to remain competitive. I did not pay for six weeks of French classes to listen to other students teach. Student presentations can be valuable for language production and practice, but the level of confusion in class was unbearable. Toward the end, I became so frustrated that I stopped attending altogether. Ironically, I learned more by studying on my own. Teachers urgently need proper training, and the school desperately needs better customer service. AVOID this school if you value your money!

Expérience fantastique: I knew my teen would love studying French in Quebec City, but his experience at Edu Inter went WAY beyond our expectations. The experiential learning, the international setting, and the generosity of the staff ensured a rich and rewarding week with his peers.

Expérience négative: We attended Edu-Inter in Quebec for a week this summer with my three daughters (12, 11, 11). My 12-year-old and I are intermediate speakers; the twins are beginners. For us, the program did not justify the cost. The beginner class lacked engagement and a productive curriculum for new learners. Most days, a portion of the beginner class would lay their heads down to sleep (as many as seven students had their heads down one day) and my twins left with virtually no measurable progress. Afternoon activities weren't well-planned, with groups returning at least an hour before scheduled dismissal. During that time, my daughters waited in the cafeteria without supervision or planned activities and as a result, had nothing to do. I began planning to pick them up early because this was consistent throughout the week. Additionally, with phones permitted, most older kids spent lunch and free time on their devices rather than engaging with one another. As far as adult language learning, I think if you come for an extended amount of time, you'll learn a lot, but for a one-week visit, the learning was extremely limited. I talked with other students who were also confused about how we just sort of just jumped into random topics. Even after experiencing multiple teachers, there wasn't a lot of individualized help, instruction, or even community and camaraderie built among fellow students. I never met most of my classmates, and I would have liked to. Quebec was beautiful, and I can see this program working better for young adults or adults who can stay longer. For beginners (especially younger students) or anyone limited to a single week, it wasn’t a good fit. I’d confirmed before committing to coming that my beginner children would make progress, but that wasn’t our experience. While there, the staff were kind and helpful, but ultimately the program isn’t well suited to short visits, and we won’t be back.

Expérience positive: Hello. Bonjour! This summer I attended the Edu-Inter Adult French language and cooking program. It was an exciting educational and cultural experience. I was fortunate to have a great group of classmates in both my French class and cooking classes in the afternoons. The cuisine was all so delicious and a new surprise everyday. The camaraderie we built with one another and the chefs was like nothing I had expected; such a great team building experience. After class, we would walk along the scenic streets of Old Quebec City which was beautiful, very European feel to it. Upon returning home, I felt inspired to continue improving my conversational French skill level and if I have the chance to return in the future would love to stay for two weeks. :) Bon voyage, and hope to keep in touch with classmates online to practice. - Andrea

Expérience fantastique: I just got back from a week in Québec city with Edu-inter. I LOVED it! It was an incredible opportunity to deepen my French and develop a love and an appreciation for the language and culture. I should have stayed longer. My teacher Juliette was amazing and the relationships formed in the class and afternoon activities was enriching. I also loved the fact that it was all ages and cultures mixed together. I really appreciated the attentiveness of the staff and how supportive they were in answering my questions. Special shout-out to Clarence who showed such patience when I could not decide if I was going to take the course. He was not pushy but simply available and willing to guide me towards making my decision. I am so glad that I did it. I highly recommend and hope to one day return to continue my learning!

Expérience négative: Mi experiencia con Edu Inter ha sido profundamente decepcionante. Al inicio, todo parecía prometedor: ofrecían múltiples opciones para emigrar, siempre y cuando se realizara su curso de idiomas. Confié en su propuesta, creyendo en sus palabras y en la posibilidad de construir un nuevo futuro. Sin embargo, una vez finalizado el curso, las promesas se desvanecieron. Hablaron de convenios con universidades que, en la práctica, no existen o no son válidos. Además, se escudan en cláusulas de confidencialidad que, lejos de brindar confianza, generan más incertidumbre. Lo más doloroso es sentir que han jugado con mis ilusiones y las de muchas personas que, como yo, decidimos invertir tiempo, dinero y esperanza en este proyecto. Todo parece orientado a satisfacer únicamente sus intereses, sin una preocupación genuina por el bienestar del estudiante. No escribo esta reseña con ánimo de dañar, sino con el deseo honesto de advertir a quienes estén considerando este camino. Ojalá mi experiencia sirva para que otros puedan tomar decisiones más informadas y no se vean atrapados en una situación tan frustrante y desalentadora como la que estoy viviendo.

Expérience fantastique: My three weeks at Edu-Inter made an excellent 'French' Vacation! The Staff are welcoming, encouraging, and patient with the students no matter your skill level. I highly recommend everyone wanting to learn Français to start with Edu-Inter, just take a look at the courses they offer. La Ville de Québec is a beautiful international city with lots of vintage architecture and yet also plenty of modern conveniences. The local Québecois folks are accustomed to tourists from everywhere so it's not just only sink or swim but instead the servers and cashiers are likely to know a little to some english. For my fellow French-Americans wanting to reconnect with our history, heritage and language, You're going to find Edu-Inter very accommodating, helpful, and affordable, as well as, much closer to America than France. The exchange rate will work in your favor too!... for now. The longer you wait, the more you'll miss out! Saisissez la chance!

Expérience fantastique: Our family traveled to Quebec City this past February to ski and attend a week of French classes at Edu-Inter. For years, my husband had wanted our family to attend a language camp together, and we finally got the opportunity this year! While there, my husband and I enjoyed French classes in the morning and our two teenage children took French classes in the morning and then went on various field trips around the city with other teenagers from the program. Our experience with Edu Inter was incredible! All of the staff were wonderful and we loved meeting others who love the French language and desire to learn to speak more fluently. This experience was so much more than just a vacation as we got to interact with so many wonderful people and our love of the French language was nurtured. Our children returned home, inspired to continue to learn French. We hope to go back again someday soon and would highly recommend this language school!!! Thank you Edu-Inter for an incredible experience!!

Expérience fantastique: Mon séjour à Edu-inter a été une véritable révélation. J'y ai passé sept mois, ce qui m'a permis d'acquérir une solide maîtrise du français, au point de réussir l'examen C1 exigé pour mon admission au Cégep ! Mais Edu-inter, c'est bien plus que des cours de langue. J'ai adoré l'ambiance multiculturelle, qui a élargi mes horizons et m'a permis de nouer des amitiés qui durent encore aujourd'hui. Si vous cherchez une immersion totale et efficace pour apprendre le français, alors Edu-inter est sans aucun doute le meilleur choix.

Expérience fantastique: J’ai adoré apprendre le français à Edu-Inter au Québec. Bien que je parlais anglais et espagnol à mon arrivée, cela faisait 40 ans que je n’avais pas reçu d’éducation formelle en français ! Après 10 semaines à Edu-Inter, j’ai atteint le niveau 2. Comme on pouvait s’y attendre, ma capacité à parler français confortablement a un peu diminué sans pratique régulière, alors j’envisage d’y retourner pour une remise à niveau. Malgré tout, je suis fière de dire que grâce à Edu-Inter, j’ai écrit mon premier livre pour enfants en français ! I loved learning French at Edu-Inter in Quebec. Although I spoke English and Spanish when I arrived, it had been 40 years since I had had any formal French language education ! After 10 weeks at Edu-Inter, I achieved Level 2 proficiency. As one might expect, my ability to speak French comfortably has declined a little without regular practice, so I’m considering returning for a refresher. Even so, I’m proud to say that thanks to Edu-Inter I wrote my first children’s book in French!

Expérience fantastique: During my month of study at Edu-Inter this past summer, I significantly grew my comfort in speaking and understanding French. My courses helped reinforce prior knowledge while learning Quebecois history and culture. I enjoyed the many activities in each class and never felt shy about making mistakes. Before studying at Edu-Inter, I could speak a few sentences at a time. Now, I can hold conversations with my entire family. The immersion I experienced greatly expedited my comfort and capabilities with French in comparison to my time in college courses or practicing with various apps. As for activities outside of class, within the city, there are plenty of attractions to explore, ranging from historical sites, museums, music festivals, and more depending on the time of the year.

Expérience fantastique: I had an incredible week at Edu-Inter doing a super-intensive program of the intermediate level (B2). My French conversation skills improved immensely and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and supportive. I did the home stay option and could not hope anything better. The host family was amazing, very thoughtful and caring. Quebec City is beautiful, very rich in culture and history, the city is super walkable and charming. Now I feel like I could have booked 2 weeks to get the level I needed, it’s complicated because of work, budget and my family, but my main goal was reached which was having a truly immersion experience in French for the first time. I totally recommend Edu-Inter for those looking to have a fantastic Quebec experience.

Expérience fantastique: I loved the experience of studying French in Quebec City. It’s a lovely historic city in the heart of North America, a beautiful setting for daily living combined with an intense program of study in a small class setting. On the first day, they test your competencies in French and find a placement for you in the appropriate class. My placement was just a bit above, but not too much above, my current level of achievement. That meant I had to work at keeping up. My peers were well motivated, raising the bar for learning. I loved my teacher Marie from France who is professional, but fun. The curriculum covered traditional French grammar, speaking, writing, and listening exercises. The conversation meetings were especially helpful to me in gaining confidence with lots of interaction in spoken French. J’adore cette ecole EDU-inter.

Expérience fantastique: I highly recommend Edu-Inter if you are looking for a school to study the FRENCH LANGUAGE My personal experience studying at Edu-Inter for 9 months was amazing. I started from zero in French and made a lot of progress as the months passed by. At first, I was really hesitant and scared that I would not learn the language. But I am truly thankful for the efforts, good techniques, and kind approach of the professors and staff. Right now, I am able to speak and communicate in French. I have not only been able to learn the language, but Edu-Inter also provides a lot of activities that are fun and enjoyable in any season. I have also been able to experience the beauty of Old Quebec, which is very close to the school. Additionally, I have met a lot of different people who have become good friends, and I have learned to live and adapt to the Quebec culture. To sum it up, my experience with Edu-Inter was truly unforgettable and memorable. Because of this experience, learning the French language at Edu-Inter has opened up a lot of opportunities for me here in Quebec. I am able to live, work, and study the program I want, as well as see the beauty of Quebec. Plus, the people in Quebec are nice and kind. Thank you so much Edu-Inter for this wonderful experience. Fiquei muito contente em conhecer as instalações e estudar por 2 semanas na escola para ter a experiência estudantil completa para nossos estudantes. A Cidade é incrível eu cheguei de trem via Montreal.

Expérience positive: Quand je me suis cassé mon bras Christophe Fernandez (Directeur général) a voulu m’envoyer un courriel en disant que je n’avais eu aucun accident et j’aurais des conséquences négatives, pour ça je donne 4 étoiles, mais les professeurs sont excellentes, ils sont patients avec les élèves et les activités en groupe sont trop amusant j’ai aimé faire du ski et snowboard dans le relais❤️

Expérience fantastique: Mi hijo estudio en el 2022 en Edu-Inter y fue una gran experiencia para su vida, las bases y el conocimiento del frances impartidas en la institución durante todo el tiempo fueron fundamentales para lograr el dominio del idioma, gracias a este esfuerzo y con gran orgullo hoy mi hijo se prepara para continuar sus estudios en Québec. Gracias totales a los profesores y personal administrativo por su ayuda y orientación en todo momento.

Ils ont su m’aider à développer les compétences nécessaires pour obtenir les résultats dont j’avais besoin à l’examen TEF et ont personnalisé mon expérience de manière remarquable. Les enseignants étaient très encourageants, compétents et bien préparés. Et la ville de Québec est une ville extrêmement charmante et accueillante. Je garde uniquement d’excellents souvenirs de mon séjour là-bas !

Expérience fantastique: L’expérience est quelque chose d’inoubliable. Excellents professeurs intéressés et sympathiques, flexibilité et beaucoup d’apprentissage. Apprendre le français ici est tellement motivant, près du centre plein de choses à faire. Expérience fantastique: Mon expérience à Edu inter a commencé en septembre 2021, j'ai étudié pendant 7 - 8 mois le français, avec des professeurs merveilleux comme Ilaf, qui a fait ma première immersion dans la langue française, Anne Marie mon professeur d'âme qui je pense a été celle qui m'a fait aimer le français, l'école m'a permis de rencontrer des amis et de faire mes premiers pas dans la compréhension du rythme de la vie au Québec. Les opportunités et les portes qui se sont ouvertes à moi après mon passage à Edu inter ont été incroyables, j'ai continué à pratiquer mon français et cela m'a permis de m'installer au Québec avec une bourse d'études à l'Université Laval, en 2024 j'ai terminé ma maîtrise entièrement en français, et aujourd'hui je garde les bons souvenirs de l'école qui m'a permis de faire mes premiers pas dans l'immersion culturelle au Québec, une belle ville avec des milliers d'opportunités... le monde est pour ceux qui rêvent et qui n'ont pas peur d'essayer....

Expérience fantastique: Je vous recommande fortement d'apprendre le français à l'école Edu -Inter située dans la ville de Québec. Cela a été une expérience bénéfique pour améliorer mes compétences linguistiques à cette institution. J'ai pris un cours super- intensive de six semaines. Les professeurs et les personnels sont sympathiques. Ils s'occupent bien d'étudiants, pas seulement de nos études, mais aussi de nos anxiétés et nos problèmes inattendus, sérieusement. Autre part, j'ai eu la chance de faire de la nouvelles connaissances amicales de partout dans le monde. Cela fait déjà dix jours que je suis retournée au Japon et le Québec me manque énormément. Je leur remercie tous du fond du cœur pour cette expérience incroyable !!!

Desde o primeiro acolhimento, quando ainda estava no Brasil até a minha recepção na escola já na cidade de Québec, tudo fluiu perfeitamente. Em apenas duas semanas, senti um desenvolvimento absurdo na fluência do meu francês. A recepção da Fernanda, uma pessoa pra lá de maravilhosa, foi única e especial. Todo o apoio que precisei durante minha estada foi prontamente realizado com uma empatia incrível! E as aulas com a professora Anne-Marie foram preciosas! É um pessoal com uma dedicação incrível! Quero muito poder repetir essa experiência!

Expérience fantastique: I highly recommend Edu-Inter! The bottom line is … I learned a lot (my teacher was well-prepared and skilled at teaching French); I had fun (the ambiance at the school is upbeat and supportive); loved my homestay (couldn’t have asked for a more caring host family); and enjoyed visiting Quebec City (tons of charm and things to do after school and weekends). I’ll be back! Edu-Inter is such a good alternative to schools in France. It was a top-notch, charming immersion experience without being so expensive or far from home.

Au début, j'ai reçu des bonnes informations données par mademoiselle Monise Felippe, qui étaient trés importantes pour ma decision d´y aller. Une fois, aprés arrivé à Quebec, et à l'école, cetait Mademoiselle Fernanda Freire qui m'a fourni un grand support, en donnant informations pour mon début comme élève, un tour pour l´école et aussi d´autres informations sur la ville de Quebec, où aller pour les achats, où faire les changes d´argent à la banque, et d'autres que informations touristiques, Je suis très content de ma expérience chez Edu-Inter, et voudrais remercier ma chère professeur Madame Marie, et surtout Mademoiselle Fernanda pour son travaille très professionelle.

Expérience fantastique: I've done two brief immersion programs now and this is by far the better of the two. The teachers genuinely seem interested and engaged, and they come up with fun learning activities. Different teachers had different accents (e.g. Quebec French and France French) which was a positive because it helped me become more flexible in my listening. I was confused at times with what the school did with learning level groupings, but that didn't cause any serious problems and it can also be helpful to have a mix. Do a homestay if you really want to kick your French up a level. The classrooms are hot when it's warm outside so if you hate that, don't go in the summer. The locals are very patient with French learners and there are lots of cool places in the city to explore. Overall, highly recommend!

Expérience fantastique: En 2022, j’ai eu la chance de passer 12 semaines à Québec, au Canada, pour étudier le français à Edu-inter. Je suis arrivé sans vraiment savoir parler la langue, mais avec beaucoup d’effort et de dévouement, et grâce à l’aide des excellents profs francophones natifs de l’école, j’ai réussi à me débrouiller en français à la fin du cours. J’ai choisi le cours super-intensif, ce qui a été essentiel pour ma progression rapide. Dès le premier jour, les profs et toute l’équipe m’ont mis à l’aise pour essayer de m’exprimer en français, même quand j’avais peu de connaissances. Cette approche m’a donné la confiance nécessaire pour continuer à apprendre et à m’améliorer. Maintenant, après 5 mois à vivre et travailler au Canada, j’utilise le français tous les jours au boulot et dans la vie de tous les jours. Je n’ai aucun doute que la base solide que j’ai acquise à Edu-inter a été essentielle pour réussir cette transition. Je recommande Edu-inter à tous ceux qui veulent apprendre ou développer leur français dans un environnement accueillant et efficace.

Expérience fantastique: Mon expérience à Edu-Inter a été merveilleuse. Je suis arrivé à Québec sans pouvoir parler aucun mot de français, mais avec l’aide de toute l’équipe à l’école, j’ai rapidement appris le français, une langue très belle. J’ai aimé les classes, on apprend le français d’une façon amusante et les professeurs, qui sont très professionnels et très gentils, sont toujours là pour guider et aider avec ce qu’on a besoin. Ils essaient tout le temps de encourager aux étudiantes de parler français, ce qui fait le progrès d’apprendre plus rapide. Ils organisent beaucoup d’activités dans l’école et des petites voyages avec lesquels on peut découvrir des endroits incroyables. J’ai aussi eu l’opportunité de rencontrer et connaître des personnes de toute la planète et d’apprendre de ces cultures. Les classes se rendent beaucoup plus intéressantes et marrantes avec cette diversité. On peut organiser de sorties avec les amis, ça fait toute l’expérience mieux et ça donne l’opportunité de pratiquer le français au dehors de l’école. J’ai toujours de contact avec beaucoup d’amis que j’ai fait pendant mon temps à Québec. Je suis resté avec une famille d’accueil, une chose que je recommande. Je pouvais mieux pratiquer le français avec eux et on organisé beaucoup d’activités. Je aussi recommande de faire du bénévolat, ça donne aussi l’opportunité de pratiquer la langue et d’aider beaucoup de personnes, j’ai me sentais heureux quand j’ai faisais ça. Québec est aussi une très belle ville, remplie avec beaucoup d’historie et des évènements très drôle pendant toute l’année, comme le carnaval d’hiver ou le festival d’été. J’adorais faire des promenades dans Vieux-Québec, les plaines d’Abraham et Petit-Champlain, mais mon endroit préféré, sans douter, ce sont les chutes Montmorency. Je remercie à Edu-Inter pour me permettre de vivre cette incroyable expérience que je n’oublierai jamais, j’aurai ces huit mois toujours dans mon cœur. Si vous voulez apprendre le français, Edu-Inter est un excellent lieu pour en faire, je vous souhaite beaucoup de courage!

Expérience fantastique: La metodología de los profesores es muy buena. Saben como hacerte sentir cómodo y sumergido con el idioma, y cultura francófona. Tengo experiencia previa con el idioma francés por lo que éste curso ayudo considerablemente a perfeccionar la escritura, la escucha y el oral en un mes. Incluso en los tiempos (PC, PQF Y IMP) que nos resultan tan difíciles a los hispano hablantes y que en mi país me fue casi imposible asimilar en años. La convivencia con la familia anfitriona me ha permitido conocer sobre la cultura Québécois y practicar el idioma al 100%. He conocido gente maravillosa con la que me mantengo en contacto hasta el día de hoy. ¿Me preguntas por esta experiencia?... pienso volver lo más pronto posible. Siento que un mes ha sido muy corto para compartir más y conocer bellos lugares. Expérience fantastique: Mon expérience dans l'école Eduinter á été incroyable! Je suis Colombienne (ma langue maternelle est l’espagnol) J'ai étudiée une année et tout ce temps j'ai reçu un service merveilleux! Les professeurs et le personnel administratif sont très professionnels et très amicaux. Ils sont intéressés non seulement par l'enseignement, mais aussi par l'apprentissage et le bien être des les étudiants, ils sont très humains! Chaque niveau vous permet de développer tout les compétences nécessaires pour acquérir les connaissances de la langue d’une manière ludique et interactive! Très amusant!! Tu peux aussi te préparer très efficacement pour tous les examens officiels de la langue française avec la possibilité de recevoir des classes particulières présentielles et aussi en ligne et pouvoir réussir avec succès. Je suis reconnaissante pour tout! Les activités ludiques d’intégration programmées chaque semaine, les cérémonies de finalisation chaque vendredi et la diversité de toutes mes collègues de différents nationalités ont fait aimer et apprendre le français. Expérience négative: I am writing in English so that I am clear with my thoughts and opinions. First the things I liked: 1)Québec is a wonderful city. Simply marvelous. 2)The Mérici campus is lovely, right next door to a portion of the Plains of Abraham with a running circle, a short walk from museums and shopping and a not so far walk to the Vieille Ville. 3)I was extremely fortunate to have a home stay of seven of my eight weeks that was out of this world. I made a friend with my home stay hostess. 4)I met some personnel on the staff that were very friendly and I wished I could have made a connection with them. But… 1) My French didn’t get better. I actually feel it got worse. I didn’t understand the point of any of the lessons. I didn’t leave the school with any actionable French. I didn’t learn how to construct naturally more complicated thoughts and ideas in French. When I arrived at the school I had just received notice the I was successful in obtaining a B2 DELF certificate. So I have at least the basics in French. Yet when I was in the classes, I didn’t understand how what I was doing in class was going to help my French skills. It seemed to me I was taking classes in philosophy or journalism or political science only instead of in English, my mother tongue, it was in French. It seemed the focus of class was on the topic of discussion and not on French. I remember thinking many times in class « I am a French student, why aren’t we studying French? Why are we trying to construct a front page of a newspaper? » 2) There were other items and incidents that occurred that if I were learning actionable French I would have overlooked but because I did not, I need to mention just how incredibly hot the classrooms were, presenting an obstacle for free thought and learning. I also for one week was sent to a home stay that was completely horrible. I was scheduled for a week but could only stay there for two days. When I went to the school’s managers to get some help I did not receive the help I needed. I was forced to spend the rest of the week in a hotel. Still, bottom line my French didn’t get better. I understand that the way the program was structured probably did not fit my learning style. I expect to be given a task, master that task, be tested to see if I have mastered that task, before moving on to the next task. At EDU-Inter, for me, there was just too much bouncing around from subject to subject and from topic to topic. There was no checking in with the students to see if they were grasping the material. It felt like a lot of « good luck, I gave you the material, if you got it you got it, if not, oh well ». The school seemed more aligned with entertaining the student body rather than holding them to task in improving their French.

Expérience positive: I loved the variety of the lessons provided in French at Edu-Inter French School. The teachers were extremely competent and I loved that they only almost 99% in French. They were always available to help.

Expérience fantastique: The most enjoyable and rewarding aspect of my Edu-inter learning experience was the interaction with my classroom teachers. They were personable, approachable, well-informed, prepared, and flexible. They were able to adjust to the needs of the class without sacrificing the content and learning objectives. I appreciated having the grammatical and content lessons in the mornings and the more applicable, contextual lessons in the afternoons. This was an excellent learning experience!

Expérience fantastique: My teacher, Camille, was amazing!

Expérience négative: I took a one week intensive French here. The method of teaching is outdated and focuses on grammar instead of working on hearing/talking/repetition skills which is the standard for modern language teaching. Instead of hearing correct pronunciations I heard sentences read by beginner students like myself with 20 different mispronounced versions. I have never been to a week long class where no book, no paper pad, or even a pen was given to the students. Anyone who desires to learn French should try an app called Duolingo, at a mere cost of about $5/month you learn plenty from beginner to advance French at a fraction of the cost with advanced teaching techniques. In fact if you are willing to listen to 1 minutes of advertisement on Duolingo every 15 minutes, you can use it for free. The administration at Edu-Int is non-responsive and no one seems to accept responsibility for failures. I was looking forward to a nice homestay experience with a French family. Instead it turned into a nightmare where upon my arrival on Sunday no one was at the host family. I was stranded in a decreprid unsafe neighborhood with a suitcase and a carry on luggage. In a sweltering hot and humid day I had to walk 4 miles with my luggage since the host did not respond to phone call, text messages, and neither did the emergency number they provided. Eventually after 4 hours the emergency contact responded and said the host is now at her place. When I got back to her place I found it even more horrifying than the neighborhood it was in. The place was too small, unkempt, unclean, cluttered, and unbearably hot and humid. The bathroom was tiny and soap scum and dirt covered tiles and shower curtain. They had charged me $80 per day for room and two meals. They charge $295 for placement or homestay fees which is a service fee for such horrible accomodations. In spite of my effort to cope with the temporary inconvenience, after a couple of hours I found the place unbearable. At 9 pm, I googled and found a suitable hotel in downtown, called Uber and left. I tried to meet with the director responsible during the week I was there but he did not make himself available. I finally wrote to the institute's president, explained the situation and asked for a refund. She assigned the task to a general director and then again instead of accepting responsibility and offering at least an apology, she too tried to pin the blame on me. In short this place runs less like an educational institute and more like a "grab the client's money and provide the cheapest minimum possible" both in education, and particularly in accomodations.

Expérience négative: I had a very negative experience at EDU-Inter, and having tried also BLI I strongly encourage to attend BLI rather than this school. I attended B2 super-intensif course. Let's start with a couple of positives, nice building, presence of cafeteria (though I didn't use it), and nice bathrooms. In terms of the negatives, the school is not at all what is advertised. 1) The core French is advertised as having between 5 and 15 people in the class and I was told upon enrollment and also by email that we would be around 11 in the class, but in fact we were 17. 2) The semi-private is advertised as being between 2 and 5, but we were in fact 8-10 depending on the days. 3) I was told the age group was between 20-30 but in practice most of the students were either below the 18 threshold or above 40. 4) Although I paid for my health insurance, this was not activated until I requested it, and because I got sick, I wasn't able to immediately speak with insurance advisers. I am still waiting for the school to show evidence it occurred otherwise. 5) Showing the proof of the dishonest marketing, I obtained a promise of 75% refund of the second week of the course. But I am still waiting to receive evidence this has been processed. 6) The price of the activities is substantially higher than what you can get with the same providers booking on your own. 7) Teaching practices are outdated, with no focus on interactive learning. One of the teachers was a primary school science teacher rather than French teacher, which I found not professional. 8) Placement test was done orally, in 5 minutes, with a bad telephone connection, which I also found non-professional. Of all the complaints listed above, I know many other students shared them. The general aptitude of the staff when a complaint was brought forward was to yell at the person instead of listening to it, which I found very rude. Finally, The Le Sommet residence at which I stayed is incredibly humid over summer, cleaning is not enforced among occupants, and I know from the building manager EDU-Inter has consistently neglected routinely cleaning the flats it rents in Le Sommet. While they say that cleaning should be among roommates, they should also enforce it. I also had a construction crane just sitting outside of my window, and works starting at 6:00am during weekdays. I was not warned about this beforehand. I hope the management will take my feedback and improve on it so as to deliver better teaching and living conditions to the future students. For the time being, I strongly encourage to stay away from this school and go instead to BLI.

Expérience fantastique: My family loves Edu-inter! I am a returning student and my child has been to the teen summer camps. In my three times at Edu-inter, I have really enjoyed the structure of the programs. Speaking French at all times is extremely beneficial as students are challenged to take risks using new vocabulary and grammar skills that are connected to practical real life inspired situations and experiences. As for the camps, my child has nothing but nice things to say about her teachers and the camps. She has made great new friends from all over the world while having fun and learning French. Thank you Edu-inter, we can’t wait to come back!

Expérience fantastique: My 12 year old son, decided that he wanted to learn french (more so than the Ontario school system was supplying him) and asked to go to a french language camp. We were all a bit skeptical, but my son absolutely loved his time at Edu-Inter this summer. His french improved greatly, he met many friends from different countries and had a great time exploring Quebec City under the guidance of his councillors. He has alredy decided to go back next year.

Expérience fantastique: I had a wonderful learning experience for level C-1 super intensive at Edu-Inter. My instructors were excellent- well-organized, prepared, engaging, and knowledgeable. We covered new vocabulary, reviewed nuances of language, listened to radio interviews, and had stimulating discussions. The school is centrally located and accessible by buses and there is a bike rental station on the campus. My host family was very welcoming and provided the opportunity to speak French in a home environment. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Quebec City and highly recommend Edu-Inter.
