Expérience négative: CELPIP has lost its credibility. The inconsistency in scoring, especially in Writing and Speaking, raises serious concerns about the fairness and transparency of the evaluation process. It often feels as if these sections are scored in a way that forces candidates to retake the exam. My spouse’s English is clearly much stronger than mine. She has years of experience taking language exams and scored 11 in both Listening and Reading. Despite this, they were given only an 8 in Speaking and Writing, which is extremely hard to justify. I learned English after my spouse, my grammar is not perfect, I received a 9 in both Speaking and Writing. This alone shows how unreliable and subjective the scoring system is. What makes this even more concerning is that the same person who received an 8 in CELPIP achieved a full score in the Speaking section of the PTE exam. Such a drastic difference cannot be explained by normal exam variation. Additionally, there are numerous reports and allegations online claiming that CELPIP Band 10 scores are being sold for money. Whether these claims are true or not, the sheer number of such stories seriously damages trust in the integrity of this exam. Combined with personal experiences like ours, it becomes very difficult to believe that the evaluation process is fair and unbiased. Based on these inconsistencies, I strongly advise candidates not to take this test. Repeatedly retaking the exam and receiving the same questionable results is a waste of both time and money. Consider choosing a more transparent and internationally standardized exam such as IELTS instead. I sincerely hope CELPIP conducts an internal review and provides a logical explanation for how a candidate can score 11 in Listening and Reading but only 8 in Speaking and Writing.

Expérience négative: DO NOT BOOK IELTS exam here! Extremely unfriendly and hostile staff. This one guy, barely spoke any English and was very aggressive towards international student! I saw him make a girl shake in stress while mean mugging her. Dude is on a power trip cause they gave him a metal detection wand and needs a reality check

Expérience négative: Bad IELTS exam experience. I would look somewhere else to book my exam. The staff is extremely unwelcoming, and makes exam nerves unnecessarily worse with their crass attitude. One particular gentleman was the security guard working along the supervisor. He is abhorrent, looking down on international students with disrespect. He was waving his metal detector at them to come and go, and motioning his hand in a whirl instead of asking them to turn around. Rude man with no manners. Not once did he say hello or please. Speaks very discretely and abrupt, you could barely discern what he wants from you, but looks at you with a mean stare if you don't do it. Multiple students were disturbed by his behavior. He failed to mention that he will collect notes from students after exam. Then screamed "what's your trouble" at this one guy because he crumbled his. Do not add to the stress of an exam, the stress of a rude staff.

Expérience fantastique: I am very grateful to everyone and everything that made this experience so special! The school campus is modern and cozy, and the teachers have effective teaching methods. Professor Hediyeh and Professor Lief Strong are kind, polite, and encourage us to talk and share experiences with other students. I stayed in an excellent room with an incredible view of the city. The building is well located, near the subway and a supermarket; it just needs improvements to the gym with more equipment, as well as more clothes hangers and locks on the outside of the doors or safes in the rooms.

Expérience négative: If you are over 30 and looking for an intensive English program, this school is absolutely not for you. Since around 90% of the students are from East Asia, it’s extremely difficult to fit in socially or make friends. You basically have to beg people every day to include you in their group. The staff and teachers are nice, but don’t expect an intensive English curriculum. The school is more suitable for much younger students. Although the school claims to offer after-school activities, they are neither useful nor well-organized. Socially, the school is also very weak. If you manage to join people by insisting and pushing on your own, you might be fine, but otherwise it’s tough. I escaped Toronto after two months, even though I had enrolled for three. When I told them I wouldn’t continue the last month, they said they couldn’t refund me because I had already completed half of the program, and they suggested I join the classes online instead. I started online yesterday, but of course I didn’t expect to benefit from online classes when I couldn’t benefit from in-person ones. I paid for one month of accommodation and requested a refund for the other two months. I also stayed on my own for one month. It has been a month and a half since the refund process started, and I still haven’t received anything. In the end, I wasted my time, my money, and my motivation to learn English. I don’t even want to see an English word right now. If you’re over 30 and genuinely want to improve your English, I do not recommend this school at all.

Expérience négative: I have been blatantly disregarded as a customer/test taker. After five months of wait, I still have not received my Cambridge Certificate. I have had fruitless exchanges with their staff and reached a point in which they didn't even bother to respond. Mind you that even after Cambridge itself intervened no movement has been made from this Center whatsoever. Beware and make sure you keep your distance from this business.

Expérience négative: I have to give my exam again. My ielts general score was poorer than my ielts academic which i gave 3,4 years back. I got the questions i never expected. I thought general questions were supposed to be better but it was unexpected. Felt like i was giving worst than academic. Felt like i got cheated You have to pay again to redo exam. I got the score i never expected. It was worse than my ielts academic few years back. And just to let you guys know i had practiced for exam but questions were unexpected. Stay away from this place. I would rather travel far away to get good score rather than give exam at this location and get lowest band score which is not even sufficient

Expérience négative: Completely disorganized. Change speaking exam less than 24 hours without sharing options and minimal flexibility. On the day as to arrive earlier than 30 min before the exam - and the exam is over 30 min delayed. Chaotic.

Do not sign up for any service as this company has a reputation to charge you unnecessary fees and delaying refunds. The advisors will protect their end by providing a BS explanation. These guys charge 120$ for a book that is worth 35$ on Amazon. Beware and stay away from ILSC

Expérience négative: One lady on the staff, who works the front reception desk area on the third floor is very rude and xenophobic! She is average height and has very dark hair, a slightly chubby and big hawk shaped nose, large eyes, big lips and was wearing red lipstick. She was so dismissive towards me but treated others kindly. Didn't greet me when I came to the desk and proceeded to ignore me and talk to her colleagues. When I politely said 'excuse me', she turned to me and very brusquely told me to wait until her conversation was finished. This is not how you treat people coming into the building looking for information. You can stop what you are doing momentarily and respond to the question and then get back to work. She is not a neurosurgeon saving lives where she can't act in a welcoming and kind way to people for a literally a few moments to answer a question or simply acknowledge the person in front of you. When she finally decided I was worthy of addressing, she cut me off and tried to rush me away. When I asked for further clarification on my question she almost rolled her eyes and acted to like she was so annoyed or like I was stupidest person alive. Why is someone this unprofessional and rude working a front facing job if they don't want to interact with the public? Or is that she cannot be bothered to treat people of colour the same way she treated the other people who came in after me and were the same hue as her? Disgusting behaviour! She reflects very badly on the entire ILSC and Greystone school.

Expérience fantastique: I recently had an IELTS test at this centre and from start to finish, my experience was nothing short of amazing. Spotting the building and navigating the inside is very easy, especially with the big number posted on the entrance. Upon entering the venue, I was greeted warmly and instructed on what to do in order to be ready for registration. After registration, we were led to another floor to take our tests. The room was air conditioned and spotless, seats were comfy, and the audio quality on the headphones were phenomenal. After a few hours, I came back for the speaking portion of the test. The wait time was relatively short. The examiner I spoke to was kind and professional and his calmness set the tone of the speaking test, relieving some of the stress I had. To sum up, I see this venue as the perfect testing centre for IELTS. Everything was done based on a strict and well though-out set of procedures. Every person I interacted with in every step of the way was welcoming and knowledgable. I will be sure to recommend this centre to anyone looking for an enjoyable testing experience.

It was a great place to learn English. All the teachers were friendly and helpful. They never disappointed their students. The location is the best part of this school. I really don't care about bad comments or good comments. Everyone has a different mind and thinks. Here is the best for me. I am in vancouver right now but I always miss here!!

Expérience positive: I’ve decided changes my review a bit… ILSC is a decent school, however if you’re looking for some place that really take seriously your necessities to improve English, I think you can find better institutions. For exemple, they’ve proposed a “Terry Fox Walk” (there is no correlation with learning English) as an “optional” activity. And at the same time they didn’t give us an alternative, like a REAL CLASS! And when I’ve talked with some colleagues (that were more time on the school than I), they told me that this kind of activity is relatively common and in general they didn’t prepare a good 2nd option for someone that wants to have a regular classes or wherever. Well, I was very disappointed. The coordination/ school’s disorganization and lack of consideration of the towards the students was pretty clear.

I took classes at this school in 2022 for 2 months and I didn't take regular English classes, I chose to take Business classes and Global Social Issues classes that were great for my English and it helped me a lot to improve the language. They have good teachers and good staff. They were always available to help me. This school is near the subway station which helps to get there. My language interchange helped me to find a good job at a multinational company and there I need to speak English almost everyday.
