Expérience négative: I wish I could give them a zero. It has been more than 10 days, since. I gave my IELTS, they had stated the results would be out in 5 days. Try calling their phone number and it goes on voicemail and no one gets back to you. I feel no freaking human listens to those voicemails, they just come in the morning and delete them, who is going to check. No one responds to your calls, and when you send them an email, its a generic crap filled email. ONE OF THE MOST HORRENDOUS PLACES TO GIVE YOUR IELTS, I WISHED I WOULD HAVE GIVEN IT ELSEWHERE. DON'T RISK IF YOU NEED YOUR RESULTS URGENTLY SAVING A FEW DOLLARS HAS COSTED ME MORE DUE TO THE STRESS AND UNWARRANTED TROUBLE THAT IS BEING CAUSED.

Expérience négative: This school has serious issues with its level placement system. I’ve applied to change classes, but I haven’t received any response. Given this experience, I would not choose this school again.

Expérience négative: Avoid this IELTS test center at all cost. They not only release result months later but withheld results of students for no apparent reasons. I spoke to BC and they confirmed that they are waiting to hear from the IELTS test partners while they undergo some checks. I understand that but don’t understand why other centers have released and this center still doing its checks.

Expérience négative: I took online French classes for three months. Each session lasts about a month, and there is a test at the end to determine whether you can move on to the next level. I started as a complete beginner and passed the first exam. However, the next level was a mixed-level class combining three different levels. There were many students, and the lessons felt too advanced for me. The students who understood more usually dominated the participation and group work. Even though I somehow passed this session as well, the school told me the following session would also be mixed-level. Because of this, I asked to return to the basic level. I felt that even if I wanted to continue studying here, there was no meaningful progress I could make as long as the classes were mixed like this. Also there were several times when we had a substitute teacher. And there was one teacher who did not seem to pay attention to what was happening in the class. Most students were lost, but he continued teaching from a textbook we didn’t have. It turned out that the school had made a mistake, and he was teaching an advanced French class to us. The school said there would be no refund but that another class would be scheduled. However, there were no updates, so I followed up. In the end, we only received a PDF workbook with no answer key. Additionally, the school sometimes does not respond to emails, and you need to follow up to get an answer.

Expérience négative: This has been one of the worst educational experiences I have ever had. From the very beginning, the registration process was a complete mess. The representative kept insisting that I must pay first, otherwise nothing would move forward. I was pressured several times for payment, and once I paid, all communication from my advisor stopped. I had no confirmation about my start date, which branch to attend, or even the orientation schedule. Imagine: I was supposed to begin classes on Monday, yet until the last moment I had no information at all. I only found out my orientation time thanks to a friend who shared their email with me—otherwise, I would have missed it completely. Later in the same week, I received an email saying my advisor had been on vacation, which explained why I had been left in the dark. For a student starting a new program, this was incredibly unprofessional and stressful. When classes started, the learning environment was equally disappointing. Because of the summer camps, children’s groups were scheduled in the same building. Their breaks overlapped with our class hours, and many parents were actually enrolled in my class. Children constantly walked in asking their parents for money, water, or other things. Even without these interruptions, the noise in the hallway was so loud that neither the teacher nor the students could hear each other. This is supposed to be an English course for adults, yet it felt more like a chaotic daycare. On top of that, the school facilities and teaching preparation were unacceptable. Teachers struggled with basic classroom equipment—one of them wasted 15–20 minutes just trying to project something from their computer, eventually giving up. The promised materials were either nonexistent or completely inadequate. Everything felt improvised and careless. By the second week, I had no choice but to withdraw. And even though the problems came entirely from the school’s disorganization and failure to provide a proper learning environment, I was heavily penalized financially. They kept a significant portion of my tuition fee and, weeks later, I am still waiting for my refund. It is outrageous that a student who could not continue because of the school’s own mismanagement is treated as if they simply “changed their mind.” Overall, this institution is unprofessional, poorly managed, and completely unreliable. The registration was chaotic, the classes were noisy and unproductive, and the refund process has been unfair. I would strongly advise anyone considering this school to look elsewhere. Do not waste your time, energy, and money here—you will regret it as much as I do.

Expérience fantastique: I was studying for 22 weeks and the truth is that it was a great experience, I had very good teachers and classmates from various countries which made the classes very enriching, I learned and met many people and other cultures. So I highly recommend the ILSC.

The campus has everything – great study spaces, comfy dorms, and even a Starbucks right there. My favorite drink is the Caramel Iced Latte – that perfect mix of strong espresso, smooth milk and sweet caramel over ice. It's seriously the best way to recharge after classes! What makes this camp special is all the cool stuff we got to do. The English lessons were actually fun, and our weekend trips were amazing. We explored downtown Vancouver, experienced the crazy FlyOver Canada ride, saw incredible sea life at the Vancouver Aquarium, and had a blast at a huge waterpark. Every weekend felt like a new adventure! If you want to improve your English while exploring an amazing city and drinking great coffee – this camp is perfect for you!

Expérience négative: For a language school this big, I would expect a much more organized way on how they manage so many students! I registered for a one week ESL class, prior to the course start, I received an email telling me the first day will have orientation program in the morning introducing the school and the program and that I should be there at 9:30. When I arrived on-time, there were close to hundreds of students all waiting. There was no structured instruction that we need to line up to wait for in person check-in, even though I checked with the staff several times until I realized one hour later. I asked how can I be sure we can make it to the class which the email says will start at 11:45am, the staff said they are not sure if there will be a class at all because they are not sure if they can register all the students! I asked what time they will finish today so I can come and pick up my son, again, they are not sure! I asked if this is what happens to the school every Monday, she says yes! The school really needs to think about how to be more organized. I am super disappointed because what they wrote on the email is very different from what really happened. If I weren’t here to accompany my son, I would not have known about this chaos. If I knew the first day will not have a class, I would definitely chose somewhere else instead wasting the whole day waiting here.

She was struggling to find her way around so I called to make sure she was going to the right place. Got sent straight to voicemail and was told to leave my number, however I never received a call back.

Expérience négative: I want to complain to the Academic Staff Office for the second time. I want to change my morning class. On Thursday, I went to the office and found the Class Change paper. I had already signed my name on it, but now the change is not reflected on the app timetable. "I'm very dissatisfied." I have been stuck at the same level since last September, and I find the class very boring. The textbooks are extremely outdated, dating back about 20-30 years. I want to study at a higher level, but I think ILSC language school's service is subpar. I do not recommend it to anyone; instead, I suggest attending a different school with better quality.

About the Staf - Carolina Pinzon is very attentionly, she attended me very well during the course, helped to fix the internet in the class room, helped me to apply in International Business. Rodrigo's Teacher is a excelent teacher, he coordenate very well the student's class and all time take attention of all students. The students were very focusing during the class and participeted a lot.

Expérience fantastique: ILSC is a great place for studying English, especially in Vancouver. There are a lot of parts that worthy of praise such as friendly people, cleaning environment, and brilliant employees. That makes me feel like stay in my home country very, very cozy. If you want to vist and syudy aboard somewhere, I believe that ILSC Vancouver is the best choice.

Expérience négative: I have just finished a 8 weeks pathway program at ILSC. The course was totally useless though. I don’t learn anything and if I learned something, it was just a particular thing which I will forget soon. Much better study by myself for free. ILSC divides its classes in sessions which last 4 weeks each. So the first and last day of each session are always the same, respectively, presenting each other and playing games. In case you are a pathway student, you must take certain courses (English general classes). One problem is that they combine their high level students (Advanced Level and Upper Intermediate Level) altogether in a same classroom. So besides the classroom becomes overcrowded, Professor must keep the level of his classes and tests down for lower level students. In addition, since pathway students must keep taking this courses, the classes keep dragging on with same speeches all the time. Another point for me which was unacceptable was having teachers who were not English native speaker. As a consequence, they had a huge accent. If I am Canada, I want to have a teacher who speaks standard English with an Canadian or English Native Accent. Otherwise I would have kept in my home country. Talking about environment, there are hundreds of people and just one restroom per floor with only one urinal. So if the person wants to go to there, they must line up. I also realized that in the lunch area, there were microwaves out of order during my whole stay in ILSC. I never brought my own meal to warm up there, but if u need to bring it, it might be a problem. If u have already English basics, I would recommend u just go to the library and grab a book to read in order to improve your vocabulary as well as go to the bar and talk with local people or other foreigners. This is such a sum up of ILSC Classes: you will need to read boring texts and make randomly conversations. No need spend money buying classes. In addition, they have tests every week (writing essays and quizzes). If you are not into tests, this is definitely not your place. I do like tests though. This was the only positive thing about ILSC I guess. Important point: the teachers I used as an example here are excellent teachers (they have high knowledge of English and teaching skills) but the way ILSC manage its classes make the learning process boring.

Expérience positive: I studied there for 2 months, I took the Greystone assessment and was given a level, after finishing a month of studies at ILSC, I discovered that I could move up to the next level, which in this case would be the same as I was at the beginning classes (which doesn't make any sense!), the teacher told me that they considered my level to be lower from the beginning of classes, which isn't a problem, but they should have warned me from the beginning. As I was a pathway student, I was unable to choose my classes before they started, so I would suggest that pathway students have this option. Another issue is about the quality of the classes, there were good and bad teachers and methods, I would like to congratulate the instructors Donna and Polly, for their admirable and extremely professional effort in trying to keep the classes interesting and interactive as much as possible, there is no comparison, they were simply the two best teachers I had during the course, they are a level above, and if some the other bad instructors made at least 30% of the effort they make, the quality of teaching in all classes would be much better and satisfactory. I would like to say that there are bad classes and teachers who have no teaching method, and in some situations they seemed to be lost and not know what to do during the class, which is frustrating for someone who has spent so much money to receive an average service for bad. Other complaint is about conversation classes (I'm not talking about a specific teacher, but about the general method of conversation classes), which are supposed to help students improve their speaking, if I am an instructor and I suggest a topic for students to discuss during class, and I don't participate, I don't follow them to see if they are speaking correctly or help them, then what would be the objective of the class? If during the conversation someone makes mistakes, there is no instructor to correct pronunciation or help in any way, I'm not sure if a group of people speaking English incorrectly, without someone to correct it, is useful. Finally, regarding advisors, it doesn't hurt to respond to an email advising a student to contact the department in person to change classes. When I went to the department in person, I discovered that the email had been read and not responded to (who will know why), the lack of response made me remain in a useless class for another week, which left me very dissatisfied and angry.

I wish I could have been able to study for a longer period; However, I reckon I have achieved some significant progress in a six-week term. Spend your money where you can get a Post Graduate Work Permit, since ILSC its not validated or certified to give those types of Work Permits. ILSC give you 2 year visas so thats cool, but the rest is garbage.

Remarkably, I was honored with the role of Student Ambassador, which greatly boosted my motivation multiple times. ILSC's staff is undeniably superb, but it's important to acknowledge the unparalleled quality of their educators as well. I wholeheartedly endorse ILSC to all my friends for their commitment to excellence and the supportive learning environment they foster.

Expérience positive: ILSC team is helpful and friendly but the problem with this place is you have to go out after the computer test and comeback for your speaking test before 30 to 40 minute's prior to your speaking time like for example, I finish my computer test around 12 and then may speaking test around 4pm which is I don’t know where to go .
