Negative experience: I would like to share my feedback regarding my tef speaking test experience. I have already completed my two attempts. In my first attempt, I received a score above 350, even though I had not practiced much at that time. However, in my second attempt, after putting in much more dedication and effort, I received a score below 350. This result was very disappointing and confusing. On the other hand, I have seen candidates who can barely speak receive scores above 400. This raises serious concerns about the evaluation process. I strongly request that the recordings be reviewed carefully and fairly. Additionally, I submitted my result for rechecking. After waiting for a full week, I was informed that there would be no changes and the score would remain the same. This process has been frustrating and discouraging. I kindly ask ELC College to understand that no one has unlimited time or money. Every candidate invests hard work, effort, and resources into these tests. It is important to respect candidates’ time and money. Decisions like these can have a significant impact on a person’s future, and it is unfair for anyone’s career to be affected in this way. I sincerely hope you will take this feedback seriously and ensure a more transparent and fair evaluation process.

Positive experience: I took my TCF exam at this center and overall the experience was good. The center was organized, but the ID check took about 1 hour, which was a bit long. The desks are close to each other, and since the headphones don’t fully cover your ears, you may still hear some background noise. Also, all instructions are given in French. For the compréhension orale, the test moves forward automatically and you can’t pause or replay. In the compréhension écrite, you can go back and change answers. The expression écrite section was not very user-friendly, especially for checking word count and reading the texts. There was around 1 hour of waiting time before the expression orale, but you can access your phone and belongings during that time. Toilets are not very close, so plan ahead. Spoiler alert: You get your compréhension orale and compréhension écrite scores right after finishing the computer part. Overall, a good center with a few minor inconveniences. * If you come by car, you might find parking on Rue Lajeunesse, right in front of the building (across the boulevard).

Negative experience: I paid hundreds of dollars and registered for a class that was supposed to begin at the start of March. It has been “postponed due to low enrolment” 3 times and is now “supposed” to begin in mid-April. I am losing faith that this program is real.

Fantastic experience: J’ai passé le TEFAQ aujourd’hui. J’ai été très bien accueillie et renseignée ! Et mon examinateur était vraiment super ! Je recommande le collège ELC ☺️
