Positive experience: [For learning French] If you're a FLAP kid or tourist, then I think this is an incredible opportunity to see a new city and have fun trying a new language. If you're seriously looking to learn a new language, then starting with A0 classes (absolute beginner) can yield mixed results. BUT once you graduate past A1 and above, or once the common vacation months are over, then I think the learning experience greatly improves. Emiliano helped tremendously with getting started, health insurance, and travel documents. Be aware that some French teachers do not speak English - which sounds bizarre for a language school. Luckily, you can request lesson changes, private courses, online, or even moving up/down a level too.

Fantastic experience: I loved the experience. I think it was a great decision. Carolina helped me with the whole process and checked on me all the time to see if I was enjoying the time at BLI. Also, I loved the classes and I have an amazing teacher, Alexandra, who helped me improve my pronunciation every day and explained the most difficult topics of French easily. I really recommend BLI for someone who is looking for a private school for learning French, I had a great experience. :)

Fantastic experience: I studied at BLI Montreal for six weeks in the super intensive program (from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), and I had a very positive experience. The teachers were excellent, especially Jennifer, who was the teacher I had the most. It’s truly enjoyable to learn with a passionate teacher. You can feel when someone loves teaching, and it makes a huge difference. Honestly, if I had teachers like her throughout my school years, I would probably speak much better English today. I really liked the structure of the program. In the morning, we focused more on grammar, which helped me build a strong foundation. In the afternoon, we practiced more conversation, which was great for improving confidence and speaking skills. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience and would definitely recommend this school.

Negative experience: Bli sell access to PrepMyFuture for $170 CAD, while the official website lists it at 99€ (around $160 CAD depending on exchange rate). 89 at the moment so 143$ As a learner, I find it disappointing that they charge more than the official website . If additional services or support are included, that should be made transparent upfront. Students deserve clarity when it comes to pricing, especially for third-party platforms that can be purchased directly and when the school most likely have access to the account cheaper. They just want to make profit out of the student. Most other schools in Montreal charge way less ended up purchasing my account for 60$ less in an other school EDIT Sorry, but the response is ridiculous. I do not believe that they bought them at the regular prices while all other schools in the city are selling it cheaper than the regular price so clearly they all have a discount. Moreover, you state that students are free to purchase the accounts themselves, yet at no point do you mention that they are available at a lower price elsewhere so how would they. The argument of convenience is not really justifiable when it literally takes five seconds to take it into account and save ten dollars. I don’t see who wouldn’t want to do that, especially since ordering the account directly from the official website also provides greater refund guarantees.

Fantastic experience: One of the best experiences I had in my life. The teaching process is amazing, and everyone in BLI is professional and does their job very well. I can feel that my French became better after 3 weeks. Also shoutout to my host family, they were very good!

Negative experience: Very disappointed. The school cancelled our English online courses without notice, even though more than five students wanted to continue. We were told to wait 90 days for a refund, and even after that deadline, no payment and no clear communication. I do not recommend this school.

Fantastic experience: N개월 동안 영어랑 프랑스어 수강했습니다! 일단 학원 규모가 큰 편이다보니 반과 커리큘럼이 다양해서 좋았어요! 프랑스어랑 영어 모두 레벨 별로 세분화되어 있어서 본인에게 적합한 레벨에 맞는 수업을 들을 수 있어요. 영어의 경우 General English 외에도 IELTS 반이나 Business class, conversation class 등, 학생 요구에 따라 수업이 개설되기도 하는데 본인에게 맞는 수업을 찾아듣을 수 있어서 좋았어요 학원에 다양한 액티비티 활동들도 많아서 본인이 적극적으로 참여한다면 다양한 경험을 쌓아서 갈 수 있어요! 전반적으로 학원에서 피드백을 잘 수용해주는 편이고 학원에 한국인 직원분도 계세요! Kate 실장님이 학원 등록, 커리큘럼 등록 등 여러 방면에서 많이 도와주셔서 타지에서 어학연수하는데 큰 도움이 됐어요! 다른 여러 어학원과 비교해보고 고민하다가 등록한 곳이었는데 완전 만족!!! 마지막으로 위치가 시내 중심이라 다운타운 구경에 최적이에요! 바로 앞에 올드포트가 있고 이튼센터나 아이스링크장 같은 곳들도 거리가 가까워서 학원 끝나고 몬트리올 구경하기 좋습니당

Negative experience: Com toda certeza, foi a pior escola na qual eu já fiz intercâmbio de inglês! Escola com salas extremamente pequenas. Professores despreparados; as aulas de turma on-line acontecem ao mesmo tempo que as presenciais. Os professores não preparam aula. O material você compra e é totalmente on-line, mas a plataforma é péssima e foi pensada para funcionar de forma um pouco mais eficaz em celular ou tablet. Então, esqueça: se você tiver notebook, você vai ter problema. E, para visualização no celular, não é satisfatório. Sem deixar de mencionar que a administração da escola pouco se importa com o que está sendo dado em sala de aula e com o que, de fato, você está precisando que seja solucionado. Você fica dias sem resposta ou recebe a única resposta padrão: “vamos verificar”.Mas saiba isso não vai acontecer. E esquece qualquer tipo de reembolso. Cuidado com quem te vende curso está no Brasil e se quer sabe o quão desorganizada essa escola é. Bom Para você que precisa aprender o inglês, esquece. Na hora de vender, é uma beleza. Por favor, não gastem o dinheiro e o tempo de vocês nessa escola.

Fantastic experience: La primera semana en la escuela fue pésima, por diferentes motivos, los más importantes son que debemos tener cuidado a la hora de realizar los exámenes y escuchar muy bien la instrucción, esto debido a que debes darle guardar y subir en cada uno, ademas de que si no te gusta el resultado de tu examen, puedes pedir una explicacion del mismo. Algo sumamente importante es que escuchan al alumno, para el caso de que no te sientas convencido con la forma de enseñanza de tu profesor, pueden moverte con otro con quien te sientas cómodo. Logre graduarme como B2.1 y despues de darme la oportunidad de conocer a fondo el ambiente, forma de trabajo y organizacion de la escuela, puedo decir lo siguiente: 1.- Tiene maestros sumamente competentes y aman enseñar y eso se respira en cada una de sus clases. Los maestros son: Samira Mammadova, Phoebe Craig, Damien Smith, Babak Khoshnevisan. 2.- Tienen actividades después de clases, las cuales son interesantes, recomiendo darte el tiempo de tomar al menos una por semana. 3.- Es impresionante el número de estudiantes de todo el mundo que vienen a esta escuela, date la oportunidad de conocer cada una de sus culturas. 4.- Lleva lonche, no cuentan con restaurante o cafeteria como tal donde puedas comprar alimentos, (tienen micro ondas que puedes usar para calentar tus alimentos). Aunque si lo prefieres, puedes comprar algo alrededor de la escuela. Existen cafeterías que amaras en la zona. En resumen, al final amé la experiencia y la oportunidad de conocer a cada uno de mis maestros y compañeros de clase.

Negative experience: If there were an option to give less than one star, I would definitely choose it. These people are far from professional. I completed my test and should have been placed in a B1 level class. I paid the fees, and on the first day they put me in A2. Their administrative staff insisted that there is “no difference” between the levels — according to her, A1, A2, B1, and B2 are all the same. When I insisted on a refund, they sent me a link to complete. I submitted it right away. After one month, they refunded me, but 100$ less than what I originally paid. And now, no one is answering.

Fantastic experience: La escuela tiene un ambiente súper agradable, las clases se hacen amenas. Realmente se nota el avance desde el primer mes.

Negative experience: Honestly, the school should win an award for creativity especially when it comes to inventing fees. They charge $50 for “materials,” which, surprise, turn out to be a couple of photocopies that probably cost them less than a cup of coffee. But sure… “materials.” Then there’s the online book for another $30, because apparently the $50 mystery packet wasn’t enough. At this point, it feels like they’re just throwing random numbers at students to see what sticks. And when you try to ask the person who sold you the program? Good luck. They’ll make you wait so long for answers that you start to think their strategy is simply: “Ignore them and maybe they’ll get tired and go away.” Overall, the prices are ridiculously high, and the lack of transparency is almost impressive in the worst way possible.

Negative experience: I feel like some people here are only focused on selling, and sometimes they promise things that aren’t even true, like saying classes have a maximum of 6–8 students when there are actually classrooms with 15 or even 20. So either they don’t know what’s really happening, or they know and just don’t care. The school also looks very old, and some areas are not well maintained. The electrical system is terrible, and during lunchtime we have to wait in a long line just to use the only 3–4 microwaves available for more than 100 students. They don’t add more because the electrical system wouldn’t support it. Another issue is that when they sell you the programs, they seem to care only about getting you to pay. After that, they don’t really follow up or check how things are going, the way an actual student advisor should. That said, the classes themselves are great, and the teachers are excellent. Some staff members are also really helpful and friendly when you need support.

Fantastic experience: Bli was an excellent experience, it helped me to improve my fluency in English lenguaje. The curses gave me the skills to prepare the ielts examen an hopefully I will get a good grade. The teacher such as Fabio were amazing, also demian, and Merhadad, classes really interesting that aren’t just focus on the learning of English grammar, were also a cultural knowledge that help me think in a critical way. Things that could improve, are the use of the English out side the class, for example in the brakes and try to make the people talk always in English.

Fantastic experience: I had to say that I had such a wonderful experience at BLI! All the support from the staff and the French course itself were amazing: the methodology, the teachers, the materials, the lessons. I’m Brazilian, and before choosing BLI, I felt very insecure about expressing myself in French. But after just one module, I can now do it confidently, without being afraid at all. In class, French is the only language allowed, and the teachers really encourage students to interact: making mistakes is seen as an important step toward fluency. And trust me, even if you don’t know a single word of French, you will learn! I felt 100% comfortable throughout the process. I want to thank the entire BLI team for helping me from the beginning. After this experience, I feel confident to go further!

Fantastic experience: Muy buena experiencia, explican muy bien los temas, cada nivel dura lo esencial, buenos profesores, buena área social y buenos horarios, el libro aveces se vuelve difícil de manejar y me parece costoso. La escuela es muy pequeña y aveces no había espacio en los salones para tantos estudiantes, sería bueno que pusieran un filtro para llenar botellas de agua. Los baños muy buenos, bien aseados, la experiencia en general muy buena, la recomiendo.

Negative experience: The classroom they assigned me looks like it's still under renovation, there's electric cables behind a door, the floor is not completed and I'm afraid the ceiling would fall, we were in another class and they changed us without finishing the class, they should respect what we pay for, but also the teacher is good.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, I had the worst experience ever. I was really excited to take my French classes. I paid for the course right away, but I never received good customer service. I had many questions, and they never explained anything.

Positive experience: I liked it, but I found the method quite traditional. I believe it could focus less on grammar and adopt more modern teaching methods using videos and real-life situations that exchange students may encounter in their daily lives. This helps even during the trip and when interacting with other colleagues. The book is very large, and it is impossible to cover everything.

Negative experience: It’s simply absurd that the school doesn’t have a water filter for the students. We spend six hours a day with just one bottle, often only 500 ml, which is what most students bring, and when the water runs out, we have to either buy more or refill it from the bathroom faucet or the cafeteria sink.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience learning English at BLI Montreal! The teachers were great, the classes were engaging, and I feel like I improved so much during my time there. Most classes had only about 12 students or less which was perfect for learning. There was one larger class of 20, but the school, in particular my advisor Emiliano Aguilar, provided a great solution that I'm very happy with. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I learned so much about other countries and made friends from all over the world. Plus, the activities were amazing: we played Canadian games, Uno with Colombian rules, and Scrabble, which helped me learn new English words in a fun way. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: I just got in contact with the school, trying to get a rate for private French classes since that’s how I feel like I learn more.. I understand they’re private classes but they gave me a rate of $840/week (4 hours of classes 3 days a week). I mentioned I would like to try 10 weeks but $7800 for 10 weeks for only 12 hours a week is insane. Doing the math that’s like 6 months of rent in 10 weeks. I lost my interest.

Positive experience: Ik kan een cursus hier zeker aanraden. De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is goed. In de eerste week stopten de lessen wel wat eerder dan gepland, omdat de docent eerder vertrok. Na navraag kreeg ik daarvoor een gratis extra week les. De online leeromgeving werkt soms niet helemaal soepel en de online lessen vragen veel van mijn laptop, vooral als ik tegelijk opdrachten maak. Ondanks dat ik ’s middags bij de tweede ronde vaak de enige student was, ging de les gewoon door. Mijn niveau Frans is daardoor snel vooruitgegaan.

Negative experience: When I first enrolled, my A2 course was excellent. I did not miss a single class, and the teacher’s guidance was professional and effective. Unfortunately, my experience completely changed once I moved to B1. In the B1 level, a new teacher was assigned who, to my surprise, struggled with French and had very poor teaching methods. The entire class, including myself, complained about this issue. I personally sent multiple emails requesting a solution, but instead of being placed in the correct level, I was shifted back to A1 a course I had already completed. After attending one A1 class, I informed the school immediately that this was not suitable and requested to be placed on hold until a proper solution was found. Despite sending several follow-up emails (even in French), I received no response. This lack of communication is extremely unprofessional. As a result of this mismanagement, I attended only five classes in the entire month. The situation worsened when yet another teacher was assigned, whose French and teaching style were also unacceptable. It was demotivating and discouraging to the point that I no longer wanted to attend. Out of five students in my class, only one remained by the end which clearly shows how dissatisfied everyone was. I also texted the coordinator directly on WhatsApp and still received no reply. The complete lack of accountability and communication from BLI has left me extremely disappointed. What was supposed to be a valuable learning experience turned into a waste of both my time and money.

Fantastic experience: J'aimais beaucoup mon expérience chez BLI! La qualité de l'enseignement du français était excellente pour le prix. J'ai déjà atteint B2.1 (selon un test de placement passé à AF) après seulement 3 mois d'études à temps plein à cette école à partir de A2.1. Aussi longtemps que tu essaies sérieusement, tu n'aurais pas de problème d'apprendre. Si tu n'aimes vraiment pas tes collègues ou ton enseignant, soit juste patient parce que tu aura un autre enseignant en quatre semaines et des étudiantes viennent et partent toutes les semaines. Ou parle avec l'équipe de BLI car ils apprécient les commentaires et font des efforts pour résoudre tout problème. N'attends pas le perfection, l'école est juste l'un des nombreux outils pour apprendre une langue. Et finalement, je ne peux pas offrir un commentaire à propos de gestion etc puisque je ne jamais eu de raison de les contester, mon avis porte donc uniquement sur la pédagogie. Toutefois, je doute que tu auras un problème sans précédent, juste lis le contrat avec soin et comprends la politique du remboursement.

Negative experience: Very badly organized school, poor management, not very helpful staff. The building needs rennovation. They accept students from different countries, but provide such a horrible service. I would not recommend this school, avoid it!Pay attention to a refund policy: 3-4 months to get back your money and there is a non-refundable portion.

Negative experience: I would not even give a one star to this school. They are very cooperative just till the point when you buy their product but once you pay, deal with all the problems alone. The management is weak at every point, the organisation is awful from the very first minute in the school. And another “bonus”: according to their policy, you will receive your money back only in 90-120 days and this is not a joke. I still doubt that I will receive my refund, as they promise to send some confirmation letter and it is already 2 weeks that I did not receive any confirmation. Just avoid this school by all meanings!

Negative experience: Absolutely do not recommend BLI to international students. I was a student at BLI from October 2023 to July 2024, and I registered for an additional term from October 2024 to May 2025. I submitted my CAQ application in June 2024, but in July, I received a letter from MIFI stating that BLI is not a designated institution as attached. I reapplied, and the same result followed. Still, BLI told me only on October 3 that I had to go for an interview at a CEGEP, which I passed. I had repeatedly informed them that my visa would expire on October 15, but they did not provide the necessary documents until October 17—after my visa expired. During this time, my file manager was away in South Korea and unresponsive. Because the documents came late, I had to apply for status restoration, which took months. While I was in this legal limbo, I could not attend any classes. I asked whether the missed classes would be refunded, but was told to “wait until you get your visa.” I finally received my new visa on February 28, 2025, and asked again about compensation for the months of missed classes. They told me, absurdly, that since I now had a visa, I could not get a refund—and instead suggested I attend the missed classes online from Korea, despite the 13–14 hour time difference. They then threatened to report to IRCC that I had not been attending classes—despite the fact that students under restoration are not legally allowed to attend class. Shockingly, even the staff seemed unaware of this IRCC regulation. I was told that if I canceled my visa, I could receive a refund — so in April 2025, I formally submitted a withdrawal request to IRCC, and later shared IRCC's response with BLI. On top of all this, a Korean BLI staff member contacted me via WhatsApp and mocked me using personal information, which I had only shared with the agency. This was an incredibly unprofessional and hurtful experience. As of August 22, 2025, I have received no refund whatsoever. The agency that helped me with the application is passing blame onto BLI, and BLI continues to avoid responsibility. This experience has been emotionally exhausting and financially damaging. I have reported this to the Office de la protection du consommateur (OPC Québec) and am pursuing legal options. What’s worse is that I’m not the only one who experienced this. I personally know at least two other students who also had their CAQs refused and had to go through status restoration due to BLI’s negligence. This is not an isolated mistake — it’s part of a systemic pattern of administrative failure and a complete lack of accountability. If you are an international student, I urge you to avoid this school. Their negligence and lack of accountability could severely impact your status, studies, and future in Canada.

Negative experience: L'école manque de sérieux, l'argent est tout ce qui les importe et ils nous sont même pas capables de nous offrir une bonne connexion à Internet. Leurs livres sont plein de fautes, et leurs meilleurs profs sont partis. A éviter!

Fantastic experience: It's really great that they offer online courses. There are teachers from various countries, so I was able to get used to different ways of speaking French. The students were mostly from south America and east Asia. The online platform had many issues, so I hope they would be improved. Also, it would be nice if they had a drink machine on campus.

Negative experience: No recomiendo esta escuela si su objetivo es que su hijo aprenda inglés o francés. Inscribí a mi sobrina en un curso de inmersión en francés para jóvenes de su edad, pero lamentablemente la experiencia estuvo muy lejos de lo prometido. Desde el inicio hubo una desorganización total: no tenían registrado su nombre y, para las actividades al aire libre, la enviaron a otra escuela donde terminó en un grupo con niños más pequeños. Además, dichas actividades se realizaban en inglés, no en francés como se había indicado, y en general, durante todo el curso solo se hablaba español, tanto entre los estudiantes como por parte del personal. La política de inmersión lingüística simplemente no se aplica. Los profesores no hacen esfuerzos por fomentar el uso del idioma que se supone están enseñando, y en el caso de mi sobrina, las explicaciones durante las clases eran en inglés, lo cual es completamente contradictorio si se busca aprender francés. El sistema educativo deja mucho que desear. No parece haber un programa estructurado y no se entrega material didáctico alguno. Además, muchos de los ejercicios requerían conexión a internet, pero nunca les proporcionaron acceso al WiFi. A pesar de haberlo solicitado, el problema no se resolvió; nos dijeron que cambiaban la contraseña con frecuencia, y como resultado, tuvimos que cubrir gastos elevados en datos móviles. El costo de las actividades es desproporcionado. Viviendo en Montreal, puedo asegurar que solo dos de ellas implican un costo real, y representan apenas el 20 % del precio semanal. El resto se realiza en parques o espacios públicos, donde los alumnos incluso deben llevar su propio refrigerio. Por último, una situación muy grave: tomaron fotos de mi sobrina y las publicaron en redes sociales sin autorización. Solicité en dos ocasiones que las retiraran y nunca lo hicieron. En resumen, la experiencia fue decepcionante. El programa no cumple con lo que promete, la organización es deficiente y el costo no se justifica en absoluto. No recomendaría este programa bajo ninguna circunstancia.

Negative experience: I was looking for a place to study and notice they offer different prices based on nationality, which is outrageous! Also, the promise native English teacher when in reality that's not the case! Stay away!

Negative experience: Ça serait bien d’être informée des vrais prix, on nous dit que c’est 395$ ensuite au moment du paiement on nous dit que c’est 395$/semaine. Et ensuite ils nous offrent un rabais mais ça revient au triple du prix annoncé quand même. C’est beau le marketing mais c’est abusé. J’imagine que les cours en valent la peine mais avec cette approche pour un simple paiement ça nous a fait prendre un pas de recul.

Fantastic experience: Bonjour, Je suis content avec l'ecole et les professeurs, Karbalaeipour, Jamaleddin, il est bon professeur, il a patient avec nous. Ha sido un reto para mi, porque yo solo hablaba español y un porcentaje de ingles, y en mi primer semana me senti desesperada porque queria hablar el idioma fluidamente, pero he aprendido y sigo aprendiendo, 1000 veces les recomiendo esta escuela para estudiar, no importa en el pais donde te encuentres, te sorprenderas lo mucho que puedes avanzar. Positive experience: I really like the classes and the fact that they are in my target language is helpful with learning the vocabulary. My teacher has been very kind but, she allows the other students use chatgpt for assignments. I wish the school had made their stance on the matter clear before I signed up because I would have liked to have found a school that better aligns with my opinion on the use of generative ai in learning environments. That is to say, I don't like generative ai and I don't like that Bli allows students to use it without repercussion and I would have preferred to go to a different school that doesn't condone its use. Additionally, the school is bad at communicating when the classes themselves start. The run on an 4 week schedule but there's as far as I can tell no way to know what week your starting on until you get here. Take me for example, I started a week late but I didn't know that until I showed up for orientation on monday. They need to communicate better with prospective students. The classes themselves are great though.

Negative experience: you want to study in this place, try to bring things that are not of much value and take good care of your personal stuff. In this school somebody stole my shoes and "because of local politics" they didn't do anything about it, they have cameras which don't work 24 hours so they couldn't give me any kind of answer about the theft of my shoes and neither a refund. They are not responsible for your personal stuff, if someone takes your stuff and does not show up, they will not be responsible for this!!

Negative experience: If you come to this place to study English or French, bring the cheapest shoes and materials to study. The location of the academy is close to Old Port and near a metro station, making transportation convenient. The surrounding area is clean, which makes the walk to the academy enjoyable. Another great advantage is that I can switch between offline and online classes depending on the situation, which helps me manage my time effectively. One small downside is that speaking French is really challenging for me, and I wish there were a dedicated class for improving speaking skills. Since the lessons focus on grammar through textbooks, I need to study vocabulary, speaking, writing, and reading comprehension on my own.

Fantastic experience: 학원 위치가 지하철역에서도 가깝고 노트르담 성당 옆이라 오며가며 광장에서 힐링하기도 좋아요. 오전수업 후 각국의 친구들과 점심먹으러 잠깐 나갔다 오기도 편합니다. 학원의 관리자분들과 선생님들 모두 친절하고 온라인책의 내용 구성도 잘 짜여져 있습니다. 다만, 이용하는 학생이 많은 오전시간대에는 간혹 접속이 원활하지 않을때도 있습니다. 2주에 한번씩 문법,듣기,읽기,쓰기,말하기 영역 시험을 치는데 약간의 스트레스가 될 수도 있겠으나 배운 내용을 정리할 수도 있고 많은 도움이 됩니다. 가장 큰 장점은 역시 온라인 수업이 가능하다는 점 입니다. 추운 겨울에 온라인 수업을 하니 여유도 생기고 아이들 케어하기도 편합니다. 온라인 수업을 하면 수업이 느슨해 지지 않을까 우려했지만 선생님이 모두 적극적으로 참여할 수 있게 도와주셨습니다. By repeatedly attending lower-level classes, I began to understand and speak a bit of French after four months. Although I missed most of the teacher’s grammar explanations, the textbook’s explanations, various examples, and exercises made comprehension manageable. Positive experience: A experiência de aulas foi muito boa, com professoras ótimas. Mas as salas de aula eram pequenas para a quantidade de alunos, as turmas tinham mais de 10 alunos. E, as vezes, não tinha ar condicionado, o que no verão, faz diferença. Eles peçam na estrutura, mas os professores e minha turma, eram muito bons e legais.

Negative experience: -UPDATE- Got an email after two weeks, they said refunds take up to 40 days to process. Will update if they refund the registration fee. IN PROCESS (Will update soon) I signed up for a week in the summer, had to cancel, was told that would be fine (4 months notice) I would be deducted a bank fee and thats all. Now I'm dealing with being withheld 160$ for registration fees, + potential bank fees. They make you pay with e-transfer so I can't appeal the charges with my credit card. Be aware of the fees and fine print. They apologised for the incorrect information on the email, but still are going to charge me almost 1/2 the price of my tuition in fees. Edu-Inter or other French schools give 100% refund with advance notice. No impressed. I will update with exactly what happens this week.

Negative experience: Je rejoins malheureusement le plus récent avis à propos de cette école. C’est tout sauf du sérieux ou du professionnalisme. Je parle surtout de l’administration. Le test d’affectation n’avait servi à rien pour mon cas. Tous les profs que j’ai eu, étaient convaincus que mon niveau n’a rien à voir avec celui qu’on m’a attribué le premier jour. Mais on sait tous pourquoi ? Ils ont préféré que je commence en bas de l’échelle : pour élargir la durée de ma formation et être obligée de rester jusqu’au dernier niveau. Tout ça pour une question de FRICS. Ils n’ont rien à faire de vos motivations ou votre objectif. Pour eux, tu n’es qu’un simple numéro! Un client qui doit rester le maximum de temps possible sans en tirer profit. Se retrouver dans un lieu où on entend parler souvent que l’espagnol (on est au Québec, précisément à Montréal où le français doit trôner et figurez-vous aucun membre du personnel ne fait l’effort pour parler français et leur niveau d’anglais laisse vraiment à désirer… ) Se retrouver seule à parler avec le professeur, voire à monopoliser la séance c’était désagréable pour tout le monde. (Chaque jour, faut qu’un élève vient me demander si on a bien le même niveau et qu’il n’y a pas d’erreur) Niveau organisation et maintien des cours, n’en parlons pas! Vous aurez droit à un prof chaque 2 ou 3 jours, pour un motif X ou Y… Les gens obtiennent leur attestations obligés de sourire pour se prendre en photo (la notoriété sur Instagram oblige) mais au fonds ils sont conscients qu’ils ont été trahis et que ce bout de papier n’a rien offert de concret… Bref, vous serez livrés à vous même, sans suivi de votre progression, ni conseil ni recommandation et vous allez vous retrouver à traiter avec un livre numérique qu’on te fait payer cher à chaque niveau et qui bug souvent. Le premier jour on te parle du règlement intérieur à respecter et de l’assiduité, et dès que les cours commencent les absences et retards des élèves (qui peuvent aller jusqu’à 45 min voire 1h) sont tolérés chaque jour, sans prise de mesure. Chacun son objectif, mais personnellement je ne suis plus en âge de chasser les cours et d’être ici que pour tisser des amitiés et se prendre en photo pour des stories à publier sur les réseaux sociaux. Chacun son objectif, est le mien n’a malheureusement pas trouvé sa réelle place à BLI. C’est pour ça que j’ai dû arrêter! La crédibilité d’une école, réside dans le respect de ses engagements et l’octroi d’une prestation sérieuse aux apprentis. Ce n’est pas le cas de BLI MONTRÉAL. Sinon, la chose positive dont j’ai pu me bénéficier, c’est quelques belles rencontres au niveau des élèves et même des profs (je pense à Miss Jennifer et M. Brent à qui je souhaite vraiment un endroit meilleur pour leur carrière).

The location of the school is perfect, next to Notre Dame, the facilities, the classrooms, the teachers, the materials, the classes, the calendar of activities make your experience unforgettable. Everything was well organized! It was absolutely helpful, you really learn.

Negative experience: I studied for 6 months (I paid in advance ☹) and this is my opinion: if your goal is to learn English this school is not for you, but if what you want to do is meet people from other Latin American countries this is your place. They promise that you will have a multicultural exchange that will help to strengthen your English level because it will be the only way of communication with people that don't speak Spanish. But it isn't true because you will have luck if there is a student who doesn't speak Spanish in your classroom. Furthermore, every two months groups of teenagers from Mexico arrive to do like a "summer camp", On those dates, the school is totally full, the classes are very disorganized, and those students come to take vacations taking the school as an excuse. They don't pay attention to the class they are frequently speaking in Spanish and don't let other people learn. A few teachers make an effort to teach and make the classes interesting and entertaining. The others teachers, who are the majority, simply read and give exercises from the virtual book (you must pay an additional $25 for each level and that book doesn't work). What you will learn at BLI is the same that you can see in any school in your home country, BLI doesn't offer any advantage. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL.

Fantastic experience: TLDR: If you want to learn French FAST, don't want to put up with bureaucracy and are willing to work hard, then I would strongly recommend this program. You get what you pay for: convenience, flexibility, and high-quality instruction. PROS: - The other students are generally very friendly, motivated, and interesting people. (Motivation was contagious!) - The teaching quality is very high. While the teaching style may very (some are more autonomy-supportive while others are stricter), all the teachers are diligent, knowledgeable, and prioritize their students. - The staff is very accommodating and let you change levels, teachers, etc. easily if you would like (this was a huge bonus for me--finding the right teacher/class match often takes some trial and error) - They do set up a fun social activity every week or so CONS: - $$. Most people in Quebec who want to learn French can get free French lessons (if you are willing to deal with some bureaucracy, which can often be really cumbersome).

Negative experience: I studied here for two months. Why I chose this school? Because I had a good experience with BLI Quebec (in the city of Quebec!) Unfortunately BLI Montreal was quite disappointing. The majority of the teachers don’t have a linguistic background. They are even not always native speakers. So when you ask a question often the answer would be “because you say it this way”. No explanation of the underlying rules. In my opinion good teachers see your weak points and give you hints how to improve them. Forget about that in BLI Montreal. Also the courses are very focused on talking. That can be effective, unless you don’t tell the students when they making mistakes. And this was the case. So you’re talking and listening to other students without getting feedback or even worse you adopt incorrect language! My way to cope with it was to read the grammar rules on the internet and do all the levels they usually do in 3 to 4 weeks on my own within 1 week each. This way I benefited at least a little bit. So unless you’re a very autonomous learner I wouldn’t recommend this school. As always there are some exceptions for the teachers (Anouar, that’s you ) When you want to get a Latin girlfriend it’s maybe also a good choice

Positive experience: Sou aluno do curso de francês, a escola cobra 25 dólares cada vez que avançamos de nível pelo livro eletrônico, que tem diversos erros, até mesmo ortográfico e alguns problemas para computar as notas, então os professores tem sempre que revisar, eu já tive que fazer uma prova duas vezes pois o sistema não registrou minha resposta.

Montreal, being a rather bilingual city, you will be able to practice your French or your English. The staff is amazing, the teachers are dedicated and professional.

Negative experience: STAY WAY FROM THIS SCHOOL!!. --- MARKETING: Marketing guys are good but there is no communication between the school and those who sell the courses. While the Marketing team promises you courses, after you pay for them the coordinator allocates you wherever is more convenient for the school. MANAGEMENT: If you complaint for anything get ready to receive a threatening email from the director like if you were not the one who pays his salary with your courses. COORDINATORS: They don't know what the word "Coordinate" means. They don't fix mistakes, they don't supervise teachers and they are only capable of saying "sorry", "sorry" and "sorry" In 3 months of online learning I got more "Sorry" than what I normally get in one year. TEACHERS: There is no consistency. You may get a really good one or a really bad one. ADVISE If you are committed to learn a new language, this school is NOT the one to go for. Below is one pic on how one teacher explains you online, and even when the coordinators were informed, they didn't care to fix it. Your call.

Negative experience: The owners are EXTREMELY cheap. They bought cheaper oversized paper for the printer and forced teachers to cut them to printer size DURING UNPAID HOURS. They will do pretty much anything to save pennies, and have no shame.
